To use SHARP Files with the SMTAnalyser program, the results have to be in a specific format in a CSV File. (IE enter your results into an Excel or similar spreadsheet and save the file as CSV)

Firstly, the following lines MUST be present withing the first 100 lines of the file:

SHARP V1.0
Tester Number 1234
Test Date 21/09/2009

Where 1234 is your tester's serial number and 21/09/2009 is the appropriate date in Proper date format (dd/mm/yyyy). The ridiculous 'American format' is not useable.

Next, the data itself must be in the following order:

sn        Sensor No.        Leakage         Resistance   Polarity  G/R        Sensitivity

Where:
  • SN is Sequence number (and must be numeric)
  • Sensor No. is the serial number of the hydrophone tested
  • Leakage is the result of the leakage test (Pass or Fail)
  • Resistance is the result of the Resistance test
  • Polarity is either G for Good, or R for Reversed
  • Sensitivity is the result of the Sensitivity test
The sequence number is ignored, but required. A numeric as the first character on a line is how the program knows it is dealing with a data line.

Other than these 2 rules, the file is pretty much free form. You can include comments and notes, so long as you respect these rules.
